Tarbert Improves For 2008

The Series which takes place over the Bank Holiday weekend from the 23rd to the 26th of May is the second largest sailing event in the UK.   Tarbert Enterprise Company volunteers, TEC, have finalised the shore side facilities including the trader’s village, additional toilets and showers, traffic management, marquee and sign erection plus the weekend entertainment, which this year promises to be bigger and better with something for everyone over the weekend. 

Currently there is a shortfall in funding for this year. Tarbert needs to exceed the expectations of the Sponsors and sailors to avoid last year’s criticism of a lacklustre Series, and avoid any risk of losing this economy boosting event.  The AIE have been generous in their support as have Crown Estates.

Tarbert has taken steps to improve its all year round appearance with new seating and flower displays around the harbour, and extensive work around the castle. Harbour front businesses are sprucing up their frontages, not just for the Series but for the season ahead.
